Ribbon Cutting Celebrates New McDonald's in Leadington, Boosting Community Spirit and Growth

Leadington, Mo. (KFMO) - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning to officially celebrate the grand opening of the new McDonald’s in Leadington.

Owner Chrissy Hurst said opening this location has been an exciting opportunity for both her team and the city.

Leadington Mayor Dustin McKinney also shared his enthusiasm for the new business, noting that it’s already having a positive impact on the local community.

As part of Thursday’s celebration, McDonald’s presented a $500 donation to the Mineral Area Fine Arts Academy. Hurst said the partnership with Mineral Area College will continue to grow moving forward.

She also expressed her gratitude for the support the restaurant has received from the community.

Mayor McKinney added that he believes this is only the beginning of new development for the city.

He said McDonald’s presence could help attract more businesses to Leadington in the near future.

Currently, the new McDonald’s employs around 80 people, with the potential to hire more. The location also features a 24-hour drive-thru, offering added convenience to customers across the area.
