Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri drivers are seeing a bit of relief at the pump this week as average gas prices continue to trend downward.
According to AAA, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is around $2.76, down a few cents from last week and about 13 cents lower than a month ago. Analysts say the decline comes as seasonal demand drops and refineries switch to the less expensive winter fuel blend. Prices vary slightly across the state, with St. Louis and Springfield averaging around $2.75 per gallon and Jefferson City closer to $2.90.
Experts say prices could remain steady or fall slightly through the fall months unless crude oil markets see major disruptions.
