Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Bismarck man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading Crystal City Police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle last month.
According to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, 35-year-old Eric R. Blandford has been charged with aggravated fleeing, driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, careless and imprudent driving, and speeding. Court documents state that a Crystal City officer attempted to stop Blandford on North Truman Boulevard in September after discovering the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen.
Blandford allegedly fled, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, running red lights, and striking another vehicle before abandoning the car and running from officers. He was later taken into custody.
Blandford, who has prior felony convictions, is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $25,000 bond. Prosecutors are seeking enhanced penalties due to his criminal history.
