Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of William P. Gleeson, a former deputy with the agency, in connection to a February incident.
Gleeson has been formally charged with two counts of a Class E felony of Hindering Prosecution. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on February 27, 2025, while Gleeson was working as a dispatcher with the Washington County 911 Office. According to the Sheriff's Office, a joint investigation conducted with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney's Office produced sufficient evidence to support the charges filed.
In a statement, Sheriff Dwayne S. Reed emphasized the department’s commitment to accountability. “The Washington County Sheriff's Office holds all of its personnel, past and present, to the highest standards of accountability and integrity," he said. "We are committed to transparency and the pursuit of justice, regardless of who is involved. No one is above the law.”
The case is pending prosecution. Authorities say no further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the judicial process.
