Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Office recovered two stolen vehicles in separate incidents this month, leading to the arrests of three suspects.
On Friday, September 12, deputies responded to a report of a stolen box truck from Springfield, Missouri, that had been tracked to the Mineral Point area. The vehicle was located at B&M Quick Stop on State Highway 8. During the investigation, deputies found a man hiding in the back of the truck. He was taken into custody without incident.
Robert Heeter was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and his bond was set at $150,000 cash only.
Earlier in the month, on Tuesday, September 2, a deputy patrolling the Cadet area spotted a suspected stolen van parked along the roadside. After contacting the occupants, the vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Springfield. Both individuals inside were arrested.
Meghan Berry, of New Jersey, was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd Degree, with bond set at $5,000 surety only. Nathaniel Russel, of Springfield, was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, also with bond set at $5,000 surety only.
Both vehicles were recovered and returned, and all three suspects now face felony charges.
