St. Louis defeated the Pirates 6-3 on Monday, before winning a tight 2-1 contest on Tuesday. Things were a little easier for the Redbirds on Wednesday, with Sonny Gray pitching 7 scoreless innings in a 5-0 shutout.
The Cardinals have climbed back to .500 on the season, and in a 3-way tie for second in the NL Central. The Cubs have a 3-game lead on the Cardinals, Cubs, and Brewers.
