Phoenix, Az. (KFMO) – The St. Louis Cardinals struggled to produce offensively in a weekend sweep by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
After the three-game series, the D-Backs outscored and outhit the Cardinals 22-7 and 31-24.
St. Louis combined to go 3-for-23 with runners in scoring position across the three game set.
Arizona’s Eugenio Saurez homered twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday for seven RBI, Adrian Del Castillo collected three hits on Friday night, and both Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Pedermo had three hits on Saturday. Pedermo collected four RBI.
The struggling Redbirds (51-49) begin a three game series in Colorado Monday on B104.3.
