Blues Fall to Jets in Double Overtime

Winnipeg, Mb. (KFMO) – The Winnipeg Jets stun the St. Louis Blues with a comeback win in Game 7 on Sunday night.

St. Louis held a 3-1 advantage with under three minutes left in the final game of a thrilling opening round series.

Winnipeg’s Vladislav Namestnikov wired a wrist shot off of Blues’ defenseman Ryan Suter with 1:56 left in regulation cutting the deficit to one goal which sparked a historic rally. Cole Perfetti scored the latest game tying goal in a Game 7 in NHL history when he tipped in a Kyle Connor shot with under three seconds left in regulation.

St. Louisan Adam Lowry scored the latest Game 7 goal in NHL history 16:10 into the second overtime completing the second comeback that featured a two-goal third period deficit in as many nights.

Dallas trailed Colorado 2-0 in the third period of a Game 7 on Saturday before a four goal third period helped the Stars advance. Up until those two games, that scenario had never been done in NHL history.

Winnipeg will face Dallas in the second round.

Jordan Kyrou, Mathieu Joseph, and Radek Faksa scored for the Blues; Perfetti scored his first goal of the game in the second period.

The Presidents’ Trophy winning Jets outshot the Blues 34-13 after the second period.

St. Louis’s season ends pushing the top NHL team to the brink of elimination but were unable to hang on in regulation and fall in Double OT.
