St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Louis Battlehawks broke a two-game losing skid by besting the Michigan Panthers 32-27 on Sunday.
The Battlehawks (3-2) built up a 17-6 lead by halftime. Rodrigo Blankenship opened the scoring with a 44-yard field goal, and starting quarterback Max Duggan found the endzone twice on the ground.
St. Louis added another field goal to start the second half, but Michigan was able to take its second lead of the game with back-to-back touchdowns, leading 21-20 early in the 4th quarter. However, returning wide receiver Hakeem Butler was able to put the Battlehawks back in front, going 67-yards for his first touchdown since returning from injury. The teams traded one more touchdown a piece, but a Michigan turnover late in the 4th allowed St. Louis to run out the rest of the clock for its third win this season.
St. Louis hosts again this week, a Friday affair against Arlington. The Battlehawks lost to the Renegades in Week 4, 30-15.
