Hillsboro Hawks Hold Off Furious Lady Trojan Push, Win 51-47

(Potosi, MO) The Hillsboro Hawks were in the double bonus late and were sent to the free throw line with three point lead. Freshman Ashley Hilton made the final 6 free throws she shot to hold on to the advantage. The Potosi Lady Trojans were unable to erase the deficit falling 51-47, while outscoring the Hawks 17-11 in the final quarter.

Ashley Hilton led Hillsboro scorers with 19 points, while her older sister Kaylee Hilton tallied 17 points and 9 rebounds. 

It was a 5 point game at the end of the first quarter 12-7 favoring the Hawks. Potosi lowered the deficit to 4 at halftime with a 10-9 second quarter scoring advantage.

After the victory, Hillsboro Head Coach, Andrew Hubbard, on the low score at halftime.

Both teams scored 30 points in the second half.

Potosi had three shooters in double digits scoring all with 10 points: Kya Gibson, Emily Hochstatter, Blair Sitton. Sitton added 10 rebounds as well.

Golden adds they expect Lauryn Reed will be back for Thursday's conference match up with the Central Lady Rebels.

Hillsboro improves to 9-4 on the season, while the Trojans fall to 9-5.
