Farmington Overwhelms North County to Start Brent Eckley Era

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington Knights got their first win under new head coach Brent Eckley on Friday, defeating the North County Raiders 49-16.

Farmington (1-0) got off to a quick start, scoring on its first drive. After forcing a North County (0-1) punt, the Knights would score again, and then once more to make it 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

A serious North County drive seemed likely to put the Raiders on the board, but a fumble deep in Farmington territory seemed to kill any momentum that North County had left. Farmington continued to score with ease, eventually pushing the lead into running clock territory by the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Late in the game, North County was able to strike twice for long touchdown passes, but it was already too late to consider any kind of serious comeback effort.

Farmington quarterback Tatem Tinsley put up Player of the Game worthy numbers, completing 12 of 14 passes for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also running for 108 yards and adding another touchdown on the ground. North County quarterback Braydee McClure went 12 for 14 in his own right, throwing for 190 yards. 117 of those yards came on two touchdown passes to wide receiver Brady Duncan.

Both teams are on the road later this week. Farmington will travel to St. Clair, while North County crosses the border to play Glenwood in Illinois.
