David Hugo "Dave" Pinkley

David Hugo “Dave” Pinkley concluded an epic 15-year battle with cancer on September 4, 2025 at the age of 74.

David was born October 31, 1950 in Ironton, Missouri, to Telly and Zola (Vance) Pinkley. He was a graduate of Fredericktown High School and served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

On April 28, 1973, David married Cecilia Jenice “Cindy” Pogue. He was incredibly proud of the family they forged together over the next 52 years, including departed infant son Gregory David Pinkley; surviving children Craig & Leslie Mills, Drew Pinkley, Manar Alhamdy, Kara Pinkley, & Aaron Pieplow; and grandsons, Elliott & Lincoln Mills.

David was preceded in death by his parents, son Greg, and all 8 of his siblings: Donald Maurice Pinkley, Margaret Darlene Miller, William Daniel Pinkley, John Gerald Pinkley, Sharon Mae Henson, Kenneth Wayne Pinkley, Dorothy Elaine Adams, & Robert Franklin Pinkley.

Dave was part of the Meadow Heights Church family, where he enjoyed every opportunity he got to share a meal and serve the community alongside his life group friends.

Dave’s favorite hobbies included soaking up the sun and silence on his back deck, fishing with grandsons, petting granddogs, and laying claim to all 4 corner pieces of every cobbler Cindy ever made.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Galactosemia Foundation (galactosemia.org).
