Two Teen Drivers Injured in Jefferson County Crash at US 61 and Willow Bend Road

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 17-year-old female driver was moderately injured after a Tuesday afternoon crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and Willow Bend Road in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. when a 2012 Hyundai Elantra attempted to turn right onto southbound US 61 and drove into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The front of the Silverado struck the left side of the Elantra.

The driver of the Elantra, a juvenile from Dupo, IL., was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The driver of the Silverado, a juvenile from Fenton, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
