Park Hills Officials Warn Residents of Scam Messages Posing as City Clerk

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - City officials are warning Park Hills residents about ongoing scam attempts involving fraudulent emails and text messages from individuals pretending to be the City Clerk.

The City of Park Hills says scammers are reaching out to residents about fake loans, fees, or urgent requests in an attempt to steal personal or financial information. City leaders stress these messages are not legitimate and urge residents to be cautious.

“The City of Park Hills will never send text messages or emails requesting personal, financial, or account information,” officials said in a public notice. “These scams are designed to look official, but they are not from the city.”

To help residents recognize and avoid these scams, the city shared several important reminders:

  • The only official email address for the City Clerk is cityclerk@parkhillsmo.net.
  • If you receive a suspicious message, do not respond or click on any links.
  • Mark the message as spam or phishing and report it.
  • When in doubt, call City Hall directly at 573-431-3577.

The city has provided examples of scam messages on its official platforms to help residents identify fraudulent communication.

City officials are encouraging residents to stay alert and to help protect others by spreading the word about the scam. “Thank you for helping keep Park Hills safe,” the statement concluded.

For more information or to report a suspicious message, contact City Hall.
