Hillsboro Man Charged in Alleged Assault of Woman and Child

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Hillsboro-area man is facing felony charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and a child at a home west of town.

39-year-old Justin W. Jovanovic was charged June 4 by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree domestic assault. The charges stem from a May 22, 2025 incident at a home on Reynolds Creek Drive. According to court documents, Jovanovic allegedly hit a woman in the face and grabbed a boy under the age of 17 by the throat, holding him against a wall for several seconds.

Jovanovic, who had left the scene before deputies arrived, is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
