Jonesboro, Ar. (KFMO) – The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks began the season with a 42-24 loss to the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday.
SEMO Quarterback Jax Leatherwood completed 26 of 36 passes for 272 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns.
The Redhawks briefly led early in the second quarter 10-7 after Justin Keller made good on a 40 yard field goal attempt but Arkansas State answered with 21 second quarter points, adding a touchdown and PAT in each of the other three quarters.
SEMO (0-1) will host North Alabama on Saturday at 6:00p.m.
